Civil War Exhibit Set to Open in February

Civil war artifacts, firearms, bullets, equipment, photographs, and most importantly…stories.

An amazing array of Civil War related artifacts are displayed at the Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum through the end of August 2007.

Cyndi Sweet is shown here putting additional touches on the upcoming
Cedar Falls-Civil War exhibit

Focusing on the role Cedar Falls played during the conflict, this exhibit is the creation of local mover and shaker Cyndi Sweet.  In addition to all of the other hats she wears, Cyndi is finishing her M.A. in Public History at UNI.  In a creative twist, this exhibit will represent her thesis project.

Special thanks go out to the thesis committee of Dr. Joanne Goldman, Dr. Wallace Hettle, and Jeff Kurtz, as well as Dr. Tom Connors who served as chair.  Also, thanks to Jeanine Johnson, Brandon Brockway, and the many others who assisted in the creation of this exhibit.
